pounds GROUND BEEF

cups ONION -- CHOPPED

cups CELERY -- CHOPPED

GARLIC,MINCED -- cloves

pounds TOMATO -- CANS

cups BEEF BROTH

½

cup TOMATO PASTE

teaspoon CUMIN -- GROUND

teaspoons SALT

2

teaspoons COCOA -- UNSWETND

teaspoon CINNAMON -- GROUND

1

teaspoon HOT PEPPERS -- LIQUID

¼

teaspoon ALLSPICE -- GROUND

¼

teaspoon CLOVES -- GROUND

tablespoons CHILI POWDER

Step 1

In a kettle, cook ground beef with onion, celery and garlic until browned.

Step 2

Add tomatoes with their liquid, beef broth, tomato paste and seasonings.

Step 3

Simmer for 1 hour and add 1-2 cans of red beans if desired. Serve over buns with saltines or tortillas; or melt cheese over the top, spread with salsa and enjoy.
