cups Semisweet chocolate chips,

Divided

tablespoons Instant coffee powder

2

teaspoons Boiling water

1 ¼

cups All purpose flour

¾

teaspoon Baking soda

½

teaspoon Salt

½

cup Butter, softened

½

cup Sugar

½

cup Firmly packed brown sugar

1

Egg

½

cup Chopped walnuts

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips over hot water or in microwave . Stir until smooth; cool to room temperature. In small cup, dissolve coffee in boiling water; set aide. Combine flour, soda, and salt; set aside. In large bowl, combine butter, sugars and coffee; beat until creamy. Add egg and melted chocolate; mix well. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in remaining 1-1/2 cups chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Step 2

Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Let stand 2-3 minutes before removing from cookie sheets; cool completely.

Step 3

Servings: About 24 3-inchcookies. (A heaping teaspoon got 36 today.)
