Created by: The Duo Dishes
Edited by: The Duo Dishes
Ingredients
½ |
pound brie, with rind |
½ |
cup mixed nuts (pecans, walnuts, pine nuts), crushed |
⅛ |
cup heavy cream |
½ |
pint blackberries |
1 ½ |
cups red wine (Merlot was on deck!) |
¼ |
cup sugar |
|
Crackers |
Preparation
Step 1 |
In a wide sauce pan, mix berries with wine and 1/4 cup sugar. Stir well and simmer on low until sauce thickens, approximately 15-20 minutes. As berries begin to break down, smush them a bit and gradually add a bit more sugar if preferred. |
Step 2 |
Once berries have cooked down, allow to cool. Once cooled, pour into a food processor and blend until smooth. Pour berry mixture through a sieve and place in a separate container. |
Step 3 |
Brush cream on sides of brie and press into crushed nuts. Sides should be completely covered. |
Step 4 |
In a baking dish, warm brie in a preheated oven at 350 degrees until soft, approximately 5 minutes.* |
Step 5 |
Top with blackberry sauce and serve with crackers. Sprinkle with extra nuts if desired. |
Step 6 |
