Step 1 |
Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large bowl, cream the sugar, shortening, eggs, and lemon juice. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternately with the milk, beating well after each addition. |
Step 2 |
Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full and bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove and brush the warm baked muffins with the Orange Glaze. Serve with the chilled Orange Butter. |
