Timing boiled eggs depends on the size and degree of hardness desired. Start timing when the water boils after eggs are placed in saucepan.
Hard-boiled (hard whites, hard yolks): Small size: 7 minutes Medium size: 8 minutes Large size: 10 minutes

I sent in a recipe for hard boiled eggs and it was this. Place eggs in a pan of water and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, remove from heat,cover and let stand for 20 minutes. Rinse in cold water. This saves energy and watching the stove. They are as good as any recipe. I have used this for over 20 years. Try it! You'll like it. If you run a few minutes over the twenty don't worry it is still the same results.

Bring eggs to room temperature before using or warm gently under hot tap water.

In a saucepan, place enough water to cover the eggs and bring to a gentle boil.

Using a spoon, carefully lower the eggs carefully into the water.

When the water reboils, start timing and reduce the heat so that the water simmers gently.
