Nutty Fettuccine Gorgonzola

Ingredients

1/2 pound Fettuccine, cooked
2 tablespoons butter
cup milk
4 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 ounce pine nuts, lightly chopped

Preparation

While the fettuccine is cooking, melt butter in a large frying pan over low heat.

Add milk and cream, stir to combine.

When warm, add Gorgonzola crumbles and stir until melted and combined.

Add Romano cheese, bacon, pine nuts and pepper to taste.

No salt, the bacon will take care of that.

Drain the pasta well, then add it to the sauce in the frying pan. Mix well to coat pasta.

Serve with Italian bread and Parmesan cheese if desired.

About

We had this last night and the flavor was good, (I love blue cheese) but the dish is a little heavy. Next time I would definately serve it with a simple side salad of lettuce and tomato, just to lighten the meal.
