Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. Beat egg whites, salt, and vanilla with electric mixer until stiff. Add sugar gradually, beating until peaks form. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop teaspoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Place in oven, and turn oven off. Leave cookies in oven 4 hours, or overnight.
