pounds lean stew beef

3

tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons oil

2

cups water

juice and rind of 1 lemon

2

cups mixed dried fruit

1

tablespoon cinnamon or 2 teaspoons curry

edit Preparation

Step 1

In a heavy skillet, brown meat in butter or oil. Stir in water, dried fruit, lemon juice and rind, cinnamon or curry. Pour into a covered casserole.

Step 2

Place in a 325 oven for 1 1/2 hours.

Step 3

Serve 4

Step 4

(This begs to be served with cooked rice!)
