(3 ½ lb) corned beef brisket |

small onions |

medium potatoes , peeled and quartered |

medium carrots , peeled and quartered |

medium parsnips , peeled and chunked |

medium rutabagas , peeled and cut in small chunks |

small cabbage , cut in wedges |
edit Preparation
Step 1 |
Place meat in dutch oven. |
Step 2 |
Add spices from pkg if desired. |
Step 3 |
Add water to cover meat. |
Step 4 |

Step 5 |
Add all vegetables EXCEPT cabbage. |
Step 6 |
Cover, return to boiling. |
Step 7 |

Step 8 |
Add cabbage. |
Step 9 |
Cover; cook for 20 minutes more. |
