Chewy Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

4 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 ounces (45g) semisweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation

Sift flour, icing sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder.

Melt butter or margarine with brown sugar, add vanilla, corn syrup and water.

Beat in the egg whites.

Add dry ingredients and stir well.

Pour into a prepared 9″ x 9″ pan, or mini muffin cups (I generally just use Pam). Bake for 12-15 minutes until firm.

These are only about 70 calories each, but careful, they do have a lot of sugar, not much fat, but lots of sugar!
