Brandy or orange liqueur, (optional) |

Mascarpone cheese, (thinned with a little water to spread, if necessary) |

Cocoa powder and mint leaves to decorate |

Step 1 |
In a large glass bowl, layer the ingredients, starting with the brownies. |
Step 2 |
Sprinkle on some brandy (or other) if wanted. Spoon over the compote and juice. Loosen the Mascarpone with a little water and mix well. Spread it over the trifle, covering any gaps, with a spatula. Sift a little cocoa powder over the top, and decorate with fresh mint leaves. |
