Wikipedia

The ham and cheese sandwich is a common type of sandwich. It is made by putting cheese and sliced ham between two slices of bread., p. 138: "Insert slices of ham and cheese between 2 slices of buttered bread or toast. Add lettuce along with mayonnaise and/or mustard." The bread is sometimes buttered and toasted. Vegetables like lettuce, tomato, onion or pickle slices can also be included. Various kinds of mustard or/and mayonnaise are also common. Sliced bread, pre-sliced cheese, and pre-sliced cooked ham are very readily available in Western supermarkets and as a result ham and cheese sandwiches are extremely quick and easy to prepare. They are a common component of a brown bag lunch.

Leave them in a cool place for about 3 hours turning the ribs over in the marinade occasionally.

Preheat the oven to gas mark 6 4000F (200 degrees C).

Step 10

Roast the ribs in the marinade mixture for half an hour basting them from time to time then after that reduce the heat to gas mark 4 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).

Step 11

Cover the dish with foil and continue to roast the ribs for a further 1 hour (still basting from time to time).

Step 12

Serve them on their own as a first course or with rice and salad for a main course.

Step 13

Note: If the mixture looks a bit dry towards the end of the cooking time add a couple of tablespoons of hot water.
