peaches* halved, pitted, cut into wedges

plums halved, pitted, cut into wedges

¼

cup granulated sugar

1

tablespoon lemon juice

2

tablespoons Amaretto (or Rum or Brandy)

2

tablespoons toasted sliced almonds

Step 1

*If you want to peel firm peaches, use a vegetable peeler. Otherwise, place peaches in boiling water for 20 seconds, cool and peel.

Step 2

Combine peaches and plums in serving bowl. Stir in sugar, lemon juice and Amaretto.

Step 3

Refrigerate up to 12 hours. Remove from fridge about 45 minutes before serving.

Step 4

Toast almonds in small skillet over low heat 10 to 12 minutes or until golden, stirring constantly. Serve in dessert bowls sprinkled with toasted almonds.

Step 5

Makes 4 to 6 servings.
