This might make a nice replacement for fruit cake-type gifts. Great by itselfor with a touch of light cream cheese for breakfast or brunch.
NOTES : I made a date-nut bread last night, that was very scrumptious. I used theoriginal recipe, because I was hoping to duplicate my grandmother's richdark bread, but unfortunately, this recipe was not the same (but it waswonderful, just not the same). I will post the original, because if you omitthe nuts the original recipe probably falls well within the 30%% and you could probably cut the butter in half or omit it entirely.
