Breakfast Sausage Gravy

Serve on top of toast, biscuit, hash browns, home fries or whatever you're eating. Variations: use half hamburger and half sausage or half hot and half mild sausage.

Ingredients

1 pound sausage
3 tablespoons flour
1 pint milk, as required
sour cream, for serving

Preparation

In a cast iron skillet, break up and brown sausage. Add flour to sausage; brown for a few minutes.

Add enough milk to create a thick gravy; simmer. Add dallop of sour cream just before serving, after removing from heat.
