Fried Mushrooms With Lemon and Garlic

Ingredients

5 garlic cloves halved lengthwise
1 pound small fresh white mushrooms rinsed, wiped one
by one by hand, then halved
Salt to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper to taste

Preparation

Lightly oil a medium-size skillet with olive oil and place over medium heat. Add the garlic and mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are golden brown around the edges, 10 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Transfer to a serving dish and surround with the lemon wedges, which may be squeezed over the mushrooms for additional flavor.
