Crumble Cookies

Ingredients

2 cups flour
Pinch of salt
½ tsp. baking soda
5 tbs. butter
½ cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. almond extract
2 oz. chocolate bar – crumbled
Powdered sugar - for dusting, if desired

Preheat Oven 375 degrees:

Sift flour, salt and baking soda into a bowl. Add the butter, cut into small pieces, and rub in using your fingertips.

Add the sugar, egg, almond extract, crumbled chocolate and mix to form fairly firm dough.

Turn on to a lightly floured surface and roll into a cylinder about, 9 inches long. Cut the dough into rounds and arrange them on a prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.

Bake cookies for 10 – 12 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges. Leave on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool.
