  • 5 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 Yellow Cake mix
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Chopped Nuts
  • Vanilla Ice Cream(optional)
  • Whipped Cream(optional)

Step 1

Peel, core, and slice apples. Cut the sliced apples in half.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, and chopped nuts.

Place half of the prepared apples in the bottom of a deep dish covered baker.

Sprinkle half of the cake mix mixture over the apples.

Layer the remaining apples, then sprinkle the rest of the cake mix mixture on top.

Cook in the microwave on high for 8 minutes.

Alternatively, for oven baking: layer the apples and cake mixture as described. Cook in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes.
