Ayurvedic Spice Mix

Ingredients

3 teaspoons ground cumin
3 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoons ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Blend well.

Keep in an airtight container.

Use as seasoning for vegetables, soups, pastas, etc.--about 1/2 tsp. per serving.

Note: most versions of this recipe call for 3 tsp. ground fennel as well, but I like the taste better without it.

I found many spice blends like this online, and they are a part of classic Ayurvedic cooking. This is a mix of ground spices that is absolutely delicious for cooking. The only thing it doesn't taste so great with is potatoes.
