Step 1 |
Mix flour and sugar; set aside. In saucepan, combine butter, shortening, coffee and cocoa. Stir and heat to boiling. Pour boiling mixture over flour and sugar in the bowl. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan or cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. While brownies are baking, prepare icing. |
Step 2 |
In saucepan, combine butter, cocoa and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth. Pour warm icing over brownies as soon as you remove them from the oven. Cool. Cut into bars. |
