Pinto and Black Bean Soup

Ingredients

15 ounces canned pinto beans drained and rinsed
15 ounces canned black beans drained and rinsed
2 carrots sliced
1 red bell pepper chopped
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
14 ounces canned tomatoes diced, undrained
2 cups water
1/2 cup bulgur uncooked
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Preparation

In large stockpot, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Stir often to prevent bulgur from sticking, serves four.

NOTES : I forgot to add the water and it makes a hearty stew that way!
