Lubyi-B'zayt (Lebanese Green Beans With Oil)
Ingredients
1 pound
Fresh green beans
1 medium
onion,
chopped
1 large
clove garlic,
chopped
1/4 cup
olive oil
8 oz.
Can tomato
sauce or a 14 oz. can of
Italian tomatoes
with liquid (omit
1/2 cup
water
Salt
and
pepper
Preparation
1
Trim
and
wash
beans;
cut
into 2-inch lengths; reserve.

Saute garlic and onion in oil. Add seasonings.

Add beans, tossing lightly.
4
Cover and
steam
for 10 minutes, tossing once during cooking.
5
Add water and tomato sauce.
6
Cover and cook 20-25 minutes.
7
May be
served
as a vegetable or with rice.
