Recipe: Polenta edit

cup polenta

4

cups water

salt to taste

tablespoons butter

Step 1

Heat water lightly seasoned with salt to a boil over high heat, about 5 minutes. Quickly whisk in the polenta until fully incorporated.

Step 2

Lower the heat to a low simmer, add the butter and allow the polenta to cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes.

Polenta, a type of yellow cornmeal mush, is a traditional Northern Italian staple. It is delicious served with dishes such as Osso Bucco or on it's own. Other options to add are Parmesan cheese, cream, porcini mushrooms, etc..
