  • 1.0 cup salt
  • 0.5 stick cinnamon stick
  • 1.5 jiggers cognac
  • 1.0 large apple
  • 1.0 orange
  • 0.5 lemon
  • 1.0 quart red wine

Begin preparation 2 days before the sangria is needed.

Pour the red wine into a large ceramic or glass container. Add the salt, broken cinnamon stick, cognac, large apple segments, orange segments, and lemon segments.

Stir gently until the salt is dissolved. During the 2-day period, stir and taste the sangria occasionally.

When ready to serve, add ice to the sangria.
