In pot place fresh vegetables. Bring to boil. While cooking fresh vegetables place meat in fry pan and brown through. Place meat and meat juices into stew pan with cooking vegetables. Add canned vegetables, bay leaf, barley and season to taste.

This soup is best if made late in the evening and eaten the next day.
