The Sweet Poppy Seeds And Cocoa

Ingredients

What You Need
150 grams of poppy seeds
200 grams of brown sugar
130 grams of butter (plus 10 grams for the mold)
125 grams flour
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
100 milliliters semi-skimmed milk
icing sugar (for garnish)

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 170°C.

Melt the butter and let cool.

Butter a 20 cm springform pan and sprinkle around the walls with a heaping tablespoon of poppy seeds and set aside.

Whip sugar and eggs and vanilla until the mixture becomes swollen.

Add milk and melted butter while continuing to beat.

In another bowl combine the flour, baking powder, cocoa and poppy seeds.

Pour the liquid mixture over dry ingredients and stir.

Pour into the prepared springform pan.

Bake for 40 minutes, that the toothpick test.

Let cool on a rack in the mold and baked gently raised.

Serve warm or cold sprinkled with icing sugar.
