Blood and Sand Cocktail

Ingredients

3/4 ounce Highland Park 12 yr. Whiskey

3/4 ounce Cherry Heering

3/4 ounce Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth

3/4 ounce Fresh Orange Juice

Preparation

Combine all ingredients over ice in a shaker.

Shake well.

Strain.

Serve up.

This is one of the very few scotch cocktails- very high end cocktail. Lovely smokey flavors. The original blood and sand cocktail was made with Tropicana orange juice, super sweet, when it was first invented sugar at the time was a luxury so people loved sweet drinks.
