Habanero Rum Apple Pie
Ingredients
4 cups chopped
apples
( 4 medium)
1/2 cup
sugar
2 tablespoons
tapioca
1/2 teaspoon
cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon
nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon
allspice
1/4 teaspoon ground
habanero
, or to taste
4 canned
pear
halves, drained and crushed
2 tablespoons dark
rum
1 tablespoon
butter
1 deep-dish
pie crust
Preparation
1
Mix
first six ingredients together and set aside.

Line bottom of pie crust with
crushed
pears and sprinkle with rum. Heap in the apple and spice mixture. Dot with butter. Cover with
top
crust and
cut
vents.
Coat
with rum and sugar mixture (optional).

Bake
at 400F for 45 minutes.
