Technique: Cooking vegetables
I always used to boil potatoes in a cooker or used to put lots of water in a saucepan and cook(boil) them. But i got to know a simple and easy technique. This can be used to cook any vegetable and is healthy and tasty.
Just cut the vegetables you want to cook. Heat 1 tbspn oil in a saucepan, add the vegetable and stir for half or 1 min. Then add some salt(1/2 tspn) and cover the saucepan and cook on low flame. The vegetables will be evenly cooked.They are steamed and also crispy as the saucepan contains oil. this is the technique to use less oil too.
what happens here is: salt leaves water when heated and this water cooks the vegis. As it is salty water the vegis turn out to be tasty when eaten. And also we dont drain any water so the nutrients are retained.
