Elise's Kitchen
It’s a margarita, it’s a beer…it’s both! That’s right, this satisfying Cinco de Mayo cocktail is a margarita laced with beer. If you like a slice of lime with your Corona or Pacifico, then you will love this drink!

My Life as a Mrs.
If you plan on watching the Derby this weekend, do yourself a favor; put on your straw boater or big feathery hat, pick the horse with the silliest name to root for and mix up this delicious little Southern sipper.

12 Bottle Bar
I can safely say that tamarind pods are among the strangest ingredient we’ve ever worked with. Beneath their egg-like shell is a sticky pulp that covers a handful of hard seeds.

Somewhere Splendid
I’m sharing a shoot that I put together with some of my friends that has a splendid pink lemonade recipe I worked on while trying to find a balance of ingredients that not only tasted great but had the perfect shade of pink.

Sing For Your Supper
Opera rehearsals have been taking their toll lately, and I feel like I’ve barely seen Joel at all these past 3 weeks. However, I was lucky enough to have a couple of my rehearsals cancelled this weekend, so Joel and I made plans for a little celebration at home.

The Girl Who Ate Everything
People kept asking for the recipe and I was embarrassed to tell them it actually wasn't from scratch and only had 2 ingredients. Work smart not hard, right?

Kimberly Belle
As the warmer weather arrives, all the red wine and hot punch from the winter months becomes less desirable. The thought of warming my hands over a mug of mulled cider, as I so often did this winter, no longer seems appealing; with spring, thoughts of fresh herbs, flower blossoms, fizzes and flips take center stage!

Poet in the Pantry

Gourmande in the Kitchen
A cool glass of honey ginger lemonade seems just right on one of those lovely, long, lazy days outside. It starts with simple syrup made from equal parts water and honey, heated briefly to dissolve. Into that goes the “zing,” a few ounces of grated ginger, and it’s left to infuse.

All Day I Dream About Food
I like tart things, and I loved the way the ginger and lemon combined with the gin. I am sure it would be fine with vodka too.

Big Red Kitchen
Since I enjoy a little bling in my life, I created this drink to look like Lady Di's/Kate's engagement ring. So while little Dae and I curl up on the couch to watch the Wedding of the Century we will sip these bubbly drinks- the grape juice version, eat some tea sandwiches, along with scones with cream and jam. And don't forget the tea!

Dishing Up Delights
Remembering my refreshing signature cocktail from last summer, I decided to make a cooling drink featuring my current favorite treat. I love herby notes in my cocktails and more tart drinks so these are perfect for me. These are delicious with and without the alcohol so feel free to enjoy them either way.

Victory or Death in the Kitchen
It’s no secret that I am a major beer enthusiast; a hophead, if you will. I’ve been thinking about learning how to brew for years, but condo living, time, and fear of the unknown kept me from taking the plunge. Well, tonight I opened up my first bottle of homebrewed Irish stout and had a drink.

Yesterday was our last day in Austin, Texas, where it is hot hot HOT, so in saying goodbye to the sizzling weather I’ve dedicated this luscious limoncello recipe to my favorite Southern city. We have had an absolute blast enjoying good friends, music and food, and can’t wait to come back soon.

Perry's Plate
I got the idea for these from a little kids cookbook that was given to me by a friend. The photo in the recipe was just as vividly colored as our smoothies, but the recipe called for a lot of yogurt and milk. I tried them out and ended up with very pale smoothies. Like melted ice cream. Not so pretty.
