A Cracker Barrel restaurant located in the Kingwood community of Houston recently gave resident Susan Mosher the scare of her life in the form of a bloody BLT. The sandwich arrived at Mosher's table with what appeared to be fries covered in a bloody handprint.
"I knew right away it was blood," said Mosher to The Kingwood Observer. "There was no ketchup on my plate, no steak sauce. It looked like a bloody handprint on my French fries, where someone had grabbed them and dropped them on the plate."
The Cracker Barrel waitress confirmed that a cook in the kitchen had injured himself while preparing her bloody BLT. The restaurant's manager apologized profusely and offered to comp the couple's meal, but Susan Mosher had deeper concerns. "How would you feel if you just ate someone's blood? I don't know if this guy has AIDS, hepatitis, meningitis or any other disease. Can you tell me I didn't catch anything from this guy?"
The Kingswood Observer reports that the Houston Department of Health and Human Services visited the Cracker Barrel on June 28; however, the restaurant was not issued a citation. Cracker Barrel has offered to pay for Mosher's blood work.
