One Pot Meal: Chili Con Carne

Chili con carne is an easy one pot meal that the whole family will love.  This Tex-Mex dish is perfect for dinner on a busy weeknight or to cozy up with by the fire on a relaxing Saturday.  Serve this chili con carne with sour cream, cheese, and plenty of tortilla chips.

Chili Con Carne


2 pounds ground beef
1/2 tablespoon onion, finely chopped or 1 dried onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can Ro-tel (tomatoes with chopped green chilies)
16 oz. can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
3/4 teaspoon salt
Cook the beef and onion (or onion seasoning) until brown. Drain off fat.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 30-45 minutes. Easy and delicious!
