Waiter Gets Fired After Leaking Peyton Manning Receipt

March 10, 2012

A server named Jon who worked at The Angus Barn in Raleigh, North Carolina, was really excited when football star Peyton Manning tipped him $200 on top of the 18% gratuity that was already included. In his excitement, Jon took a picture of the receipt and posted it online. Once it went viral, Jon found himself jobless.

Owner of The Angus Barn, Van Eure, said releasing that kind of information was against restaurant policy.

"This goes against every policy we have... it's just horrible," Eure said, adding that she fired Jon immediately and plans to call Manning herself to apologize for the incident.

I think Payton is
Awesome and so
is this employee
who is so proud of
his tip! Shame on
this restaurant!
Good guys always
win as does Payton
and this employee.
If You ain't appreciated, move on. Apparently, Peyton appreciated You!

I don't think the waiter did anything wrong. He had good intentions to show what a generous tipper Manning is. I didn't hear anything about Manning complaining that is "privacy" was compromised, so who was hurt? You hear about celebrity tips all the time, from many different sources. I think the Angus Barn has overreacted, and should have let the waiter off with a warning.

I'll bet she does plan to call him. Don't forget to ask for his autograph. By the way, how'd you get his number?

Sounds to me like The Angus Barn is trying to capitalize on this! For Pete's sake, someone in that part of the country, hire this waiter. His BIG moment: (ie. waiting on a celebrity, and then the nice tip),,,dashed and trashed by his employer. BE REAL...enjoy the good things that happen!!!
