Buona Vita Recalls 325,000 Pounds of Meatballs

July 10, 2012

According to CBS News, Buona Vita Inc. recalled 325,000 pounds of frozen meat including their meatballs, meat patties and more due to Listeria contamination.  On their website, the company claims to produce 200,000 meatballs a day (that's a lot of meat!).  In the CBS article, they stated that the U.S. Department of Agriculture labeled the recall as "Class I" which means: "a health hazard situation in which there is a reasonable probability that eating the food will cause health problems or death."  For more specific information on the products recalled, click here.
