Thanksgiving Sides You Will Love to Share

November 12, 2014

Thanksgiving is the universal meal where you can loosen your healthy food rules (just a bit) and enjoy things that are made with rich creams and butter, full fat and flavorful. One way around this is to eat smaller portions and still be able to enjoy the full fat versions.

We love these holiday inspired sides and appetizers. They are delicious and all pretty simple to make.

Crab Meat Au Gratin

From Amy in the Kitchen

This dip is so amazing! You may find yourself finding things to either dip or spread in this fantastic recipe.

Cranberry Orange Mulled Wine

From Wine and Glue

Cranberry orange mulled wine is a nice way to bring on the festivities. This is a spiced, tart drink for the adults at the table. So flavorful!

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

From The Law Student's Wife

If you have never had the chance to taste homemade cranberry sauce, you are in for a treat. Homemade versions of this classic side dish tastes so much deeper and more interesting. We love to serve it for the meal and spread it on bread when we make our leftover turkey sandwiches.

Blue Cheese Mashed Potatoes

From Cookie Monster Cooking

Mashed potatoes are a regular dish at the holiday table, but they could use an upgrade! How about Blue Cheese Mashed potatoes and browned butter. These have so much flavor, they make the perfect side for your turkey and other sides. You may not even need gravy!

Sweet Potato Biscuits

From Tide and Thyme

What is Thanksgiving without the bread? Try these lovely golden biscuits that have the natural sweetness of sweet potatoes in them.
