This post is especially for my friends that have been following my food adventures from the very beginning but have been diagnosed with Celiac disease.

Evening meals with the family are something I really enjoy - but only if i'm prepared for it. A few good, low maintenance menus are essential for the middle of the week. I'm always keeping my eyes peeled for new and interesting, nutritious food for these people, I have to feed them for the next 18 years or so after all (that's a lot of dinners!) Here are a couple that work for us.

A couple of days ago I was browsing food blog, Manu’s Menu, when I spotted her recipe for roast pork with apples and prunes. This got me hungry for a roast dinner so when I spotted some nice lamb legs today at the supermarket, I pounced.

I used to be a huge vegetable person growing up. I thank my mom for this as it was ingrained in my brain that a balanced meal was one that contained some kind of vegetable. When I went to college, I started eating meals that were cheap and fast like macaroni and cheese, Funions - fake fried onions, ramen noodles, baked potatoes with cheese and ranch dressing.

There were a range of emotions as I prepared to cook the 75th and final recipe of my Good Fish project on Labor Day…

Just under the wire, right before figs disappear altogether, we thought we’d bring you one recipe at the end of the season. Figs with gorgonzola is one of the most common combinations I’ve seen lately

I am a boxed brownie girl. Ya I said it. And I am totally not ashamed. I may give you the side eye when you pass me a piece of cake that came out of a box…but brownies? I get it. Any brownie I have ever made from scratch has not tasted any better than the boxed brownies.

Pale green mango, pink petals of torch ginger, glossy red chilis, leafy green mint, purple skin of shallots. A tangled web of colors form Malaysian kerabu salad.

oday is National Guacamole Day! We all know and love guacamole as a party snack, but there's more to guacamole than meets the eye. Guacamole is made from avocados, which are packed with more than twenty vitamins, contain "good fats" that reduce cholesterol, can help fight cancer, and can be used as a substitute for butter or shortening in baking.

I wonder why pear picking doesn’t have the same strong cultural foothold that apple picking does in regions like New England. Pear orchards must exist, otherwise where would our pears come from? As a matter of fact, come to think of it, I’ve seen pear orchards before, and they’re lovely. Just as nice for wandering up and down idyllic rows of leafy trees under a blue sky on a crisp day as are apple orchards.

Fall is here so get ready for an onslaught of pumpkin recipes. First up is a simple trifle with layers of pumpkin and vanilla pudding with a praline crumble. Oh, yes, that’s a crumble made up of granola and kicked up with crushed pralines.

These new recipes for this wonderful season reflect my love and affinity with the produce from autumn. The many colours, tastes and sensations that autumn provides have the edge on other seasons for me, and it is the time of the year that I look forward to more than any other.

If you've been around for a while, you may notice that I am a noodle fanatic amongst other things :O. So I was thinking to myself that it was high time for me to feature one of my favourite noodle dishes, the very humble ramen stir-fried with some vegetables and protein (of your choice).

Another Recipe for Kari's Fresh Mystery Basket Challenge :), They are supposed to be 7 recipes, but hey, this happens to be one real busy week for me!!

So it's Sataurday afternoon and you are in the mood for something quick & easy...with no fuss...Well this is such a lovely meal, it's also light and you can serve it with a nice green salad if you have unexpected guests that arrive. I love pasta so i could eat this all the time....with tuna as an added bonus.

I’ve been making homemade pops quite a bit recently. I go through phases where I get major sugar cravings in the evening (these phases seem directly related to carb and sugar intake during the day).

Despite what it looks like, these Springtime Potatoes are not an example of something you’d find in a vomitorium. People spew forth from a vomitorium, not chunks of radish and cucumber in a sour cream and chive sauce.

I really couldn’t decide whether to post this photo. After the success of my Double Chocolate Cardamom & Rose Cake, and so many lovely comments about its elegance and beauty, these crudely thrown together kebabs felt like a bit of an eye sore.

At this point, anyone who’s not a mushroom forager in Ithaca must by dying for some sun. It’s been raining almost around the clock – a steady pitter-patter on the tin roof of our home, soaking the earth and flooding the streets.

I want to take a minute to say how wonderful I think Quinoa is. I make a batch with varied flavors every week and I eat on it for lunch and snacks all week long. I’ve always loved rice, but have found more limited health benefits considering the carbs that come with it.
