Grown and cultivated for its ovoid, green fruit, which grow in bunches. The fruit ripen during the summer. It has a tight and thin but rigid layer of skin protecting the tart, tangy, cream pulp, which is sucked out when eating. Commonly known as mamoncillo. Native to American Tropics.
