The Discovery is an early ripening apple, popular in the United Kingdom. Found in Essex in the 1940's it's a seedling of Worcester Pearmain.

An attractive round shape if a little squat. It develops a bright red cheek over a light greenish yellow background

Selecting and Buying
Choosing: Picked too early these wont have the sweetness they deserve. Picked too late, they flesh goes soft. A short optimum picking season typical of early apples.
