About

Cold smoked and cured salmon, usually served thinly sliced and cold. Often eaten on bagels or crackers, with cream cheese. Sliced red onion and capers are also popular flavor combinations.

Lox were brought to the United States by Eastern European Jews in the late nineteenth century.
