About This Food
The King Russet Apple is a medium sized apple ranging in color from greenish yellow to yellow when mature. It is a dessert apple and is rich and sweet. It comes from the Cheshire area of England and is in season from October until Christmas time. It is characterized by four or five "bulges" rather than being totally round. It will often have a red blush if it is exposed to the sun but will take on a grey shade if it is grown in the shade.
