Recently returned from Italy and brought home several jars of , salsa al tartufo ( with Truffles ). I have both the white and black variety ,, looks like they are mixed with mushrooms. Any ideas? i know they are good in pasta , rissotto , and served with steak and eggs but have not tried appetizers, what do any of you think . ?

It should be a mixture of mushrooms with truffles, oil, maybe garlic & spices? Try making some crispy potato chips with a dollop of the salsa and a tiny bit of sour cream and chives. or mini egg & cheese tarts with the salsa mixed in. You could top some baguette slices with some ricotta, the salsa and shavings of pecorino- toast till the cheese melts.

Try mini pizzas or mixed with butter on grilled scallops and shrimp.
