Is it safe to eat mayonnaise beyond the expiration date?

Mayonnaise may or may not be good past the expiration date. The expiration date is provided by manufacturers as a guide. It is not a finite date of expiration. If the mayonnaise has gone bad, it will be very noticeable. Mayonnaise contains oils and these oils will become rancid when the mayonnaise begins to turn bad. The mayonnaise will have a horrible taste.
