Mlechna salata, the Bulgarian equivalent to the Greek salad Tzatziki.
It used to take hours to make when my baba (grandma) would prepare it. The most time consuming part was the draining of the yogurt.
With little time on my hands yet a never ending desire for fresh garlic combined with the cool taste of cucumbers and yogurt, I am mostly substituting the yogurt for sour cream nowadays. It has become an all time favorite amongst other easy salad recipes from the Balkan region.
