Ingredients

  • 2 cups pre-boiled toor dal
  • 50 g yellow pumpkin
  • 1 drumstick
  • 50 g bottle gourd
  • 3-4 ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
  • green chillies and ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 teaspoons asafoetida/ hing
  • 1 teaspoons mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoons sambar powder
  • salt
  • curry leaves and dry red chillies
  • oil
  • turmeric/ haldi powder(optional)

Heat oil in a deep frying pot

Lightly fry the pumpkin, bottle gourd, onion and ladyfingers on a high flame

Tip – keep in mind that they all have different cooking times

Tip – You can boil the vegetables with the toor dal if you want to avoid frying

Heat around 1-1 1/2 tsp oil in a pot

Add ¼ tsp asafoetida

Add the tomatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes
