- 2 cups pre-boiled toor dal
- 50 g yellow pumpkin
- 1 drumstick
- 50 g bottle gourd
- 3-4 ladyfingers
- 2 tablespoons tamarind paste
- green chillies and ginger, finely chopped
- 1 tomato
- 1 onion
- 1/4 teaspoons asafoetida/ hing
- 1 teaspoons mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoons sambar powder
- salt
- curry leaves and dry red chillies
- oil
- turmeric/ haldi powder(optional)
Instructions
Step 1
Heat oil in a deep frying pot
Step 2
Lightly fry the pumpkin, bottle gourd, onion and ladyfingers on a high flame

Tip – keep in mind that they all have different cooking times

Tip – You can boil the vegetables with the toor dal if you want to avoid frying

Heat around 1-1 1/2 tsp oil in a pot

Add ¼ tsp asafoetida

1 tsp mustard seeds

Add the green chillies and ginger

Tip – Remember to use dried chillies for a great flavor

Add the tomatoes and sauté for 2-3 minutes

Add some water to help the sambar cook depending on the consistency you want
