  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Whipped cream
  • 3 count Egg yolks, slightly beaten
  • 1.5 inch square unsweetened chocolate, pieces
  • 2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 count Pie crust, baked
  • 3/4 cup Confectioner's sugar
  • 1/3 cup Peanut butter

Instructions

Step 1

Combine the peanut butter and confectioner's sugar in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle two-thirds of this mixture into the baked pie crust.

In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Stir in the milk and the chocolate pieces.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then cook and stir for one minute.

Gradually add at least half of the hot mixture to the beaten egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper. Return the tempered egg yolk mixture to the saucepan.

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust. Cover with plastic wrap and chill until set.

Before serving, spread whipped cream over the pie filling and sprinkle the remaining peanut butter mixture on top.
