- 2 bunch collard greens, washed and cut into a large chiffonade
- 2 smoked ham hocks (or smoked turkey leg)
- as needed salt
- a pinch sugar
- 3 quart water

45 minutes or until the greens are tender and the pot likker develops
In a 5 quart pot, place the greens, salt, sugar, and the ham hocks. Cover with the water. Bring the pot to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and let cook.
