Fattoush is a very beautiful and nutritious salad preapred with tossed/saute Pitta Bread. It is popular throughout the Middle East.

  • 2 pieces Pitta Bread
  • 3 pieces Tomatoes
  • 3 pieces Cucumber
  • 5 leaves Lettuce
  • 3 stalks Spring Onion
  • 1 cup Fresh Parsley or Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Mint leaves
  • 2 pieces Green Chillies
  • 2 lemons Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Sumak Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder

Instructions

Step 1

Toss or saute Pitta Bread in oil until crisp and golden. Cut into diamond-like pieces.

Combine Tomatoes, Spring onion, Cucumber, Green Chillies, Lettuce leaves, Mint, and Parsley in a bowl and mix together.

30 minutes

Add the diamond-shaped Pitta Bread pieces to the bowl. Sprinkle with Olive oil, Sumak Powder, Black pepper powder, and Salt, then mix well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
