  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 6 ounce fresh cranberries
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 small yellow onions finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Coat a skillet with a thin layer of vegetable oil.

Heat the skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the finely diced yellow onions to the skillet and stir until they begin to soften.

Add the salt, light brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, apple juice, raisins, ground ginger, ground cloves, and cinnamon stick to the skillet.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer.

Rinse the fresh cranberries under cold water and remove any soft or mushy berries.

Add the rinsed cranberries to the onion mixture, cover, and simmer until the cranberries have popped.
