Low Country Boil In One Pot

Just because it's called Low Country Boil, which is associated with Charleston, SC area, doesn't mean you can't make it anywhere else. My cousin and I made this in Panama City Beach and it was perfecto!

  • 12 cups Water
  • 1/2 cup Old Bay Seasoning
  • 16 small new or red potatoes
  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage
  • 2 medium onions, peeled but don't remove stems, cut into quarters
  • 3 ears fresh corn on the cob, shucked, cut into thirds
  • 2 pounds fresh shrimp
  • fresh, crusty bread
  • cocktail sauce
  • lemon wedges

Step 1

Add Old Bay Seasoning to water and simmer.

15-18 minutes

Add potatoes, sausage, and onions. Bring to a simmer and cook until potatoes are tender.

4-5 minutes

Keep water at a slow boil, add corn, and cook.

3-5 minutes

Add shrimp and cook until they become pink and opaque.

Strain the contents and serve on newspapers or a large platter.

Serve with fresh, crusty bread, cocktail sauce, and lemon wedges.
