Sift together the flour, cornmeal and baking powder.
Roll dough into a long strip and cut into small pieces. Knead each piece into a small ball. On a floured surface, flatten each ball with a rolling pin or your finger-tips and palms. Place oil in frying pan (enough to cover the bottom of the pan). When oil is hot, add flattened cakes. Fry on one side for 2-3 minutes, turn and continue cooking on other side until both sides are golden brown.
